DispatchHealth is looking for a Lead Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Advanced Practice Provider or APP) to join our growing clinical leadership team in the Cincinnati, OH area.

 

The Lead APP at DispatchHealth is responsible for the recruitment, training, scheduling, and day-to-day management of Location based APPs. This position will work closely with the Market Manager to manage APPs including participation in evaluations and annual reviews using standard company metrics.

  • Day to day clinical team management and operations of market in conjunction with your dyad market operations partner, includes running monthly market meetings
  • Blend of clinical patient care and office/admin time: Expectations change as need to manage providers increases
  • Develop team schedules with the Scheduling Department’s assistance
  • Actively participate and attend leadership and operations meetings
  • Provide business development support as needed

Recruitment/Hiring

  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team to recruit exceptional team members, includes vetting CVs, interviewing and matching FTE with market volumes

Training/Onboarding

  • Conducting new provider orientation, on-boarding and training
  • Ensuring new clinical team members are proficient and confident in preforming procedures and skills
  • Evaluating readiness for solo clinical practice for new APPS
  • Providing clinical support as the subject matter expert

Clinical Practice

  • Perform comprehensive health assessment and diagnose and treat complex illnesses
  • Use critical thinking skills and follow evidence-based standards of practice
  • Analyze test data to diagnose, treat and arrange appropriate follow up for the patient to ensure continuity of care
  • Educate patients and families on how to treat their acute illness and manage their health and well-being
  • Effectively navigate difficult conversations related to end-of-life issues and goals of care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family, the medical power of attorney, primary care provider and all individuals involved in the patient’s care

Management and Professionalism

  • Effectively navigate difficult conversations
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Identify and proactively solve problems
  • Adhere to clinical and safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics
  • Provide patient care and support your team to deliver care with compassion, empathy, and cultural competency
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff, partners and remote teams 
  • Maintain professional etiquette and serve as ambassadors for DispatchHealth
  • Lead your practice and always do what’s right for the patient

Optimization

  • Organize administrative work around company strategic goals and KPIs
  • Refine and perfect provider workflows
  • Provide feedback on documentation and patient care delivery
  • Perform annual evaluations
  • Work with Clinical Education to optimize APP performance
  • Build a high-performing team, cohesiveness and trust
  • At least 5 years of experience in acute care: ED, UC, or internal medicine
  • Current unrestricted state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse
  • Practitioner
  • Nationally board certified (current)
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification
  • Prescriptive authority (DEA if indicated)
  • Previous management experience preferred
